Tomio Nitto
Tomio was born in Japan. After completing high school he moved to Tokyo where he studied at the Nippon Design School.
He worked for the K2 Design Office and received First Prize, Prime Minister's Award for Newspaper Ad before moving to Toronto in 1972. He worked for a design studio and quit to start his freelance illustration career in 1980.
His Illustrations have appeared in Boston Globe magazine, Canadian Business, CA Magazine, CBC Radio Guide, Esquire, L'Expansion (Paris), The Financial Post magazine, New Jersey Monthly, PC Computing, Saturday Night magazine, Toronto Life, Washington Post magazine, and on CD covers, posters and corporate brochures. His illustrations have appeared in the movies The Fly and M. Butterfly. Tomio loves bicycling and sketching.
